GREG HANNA TO PLAY HISTORIC “PURPLE HILL” VENUE

CPT Entertainment to present Hanna in a special one-night engagement

London, ON (September 17, 2007): Country music artist Greg Hanna is returning to perform in the London area for the first time in several years. Hanna, a former Fanshawe College graduate, will make the trip from Nashville, Tennessee for a one-night-only engagement at the historic Purple Hill Country Event Centre (formerly Taylor Auction Centre) in Thorndale on Saturday, October 13. The event is being produced by CPT Entertainment Inc. and sponsored by Case ‘N Drum OIL and Vincent Farm Equipment of Exeter and Seaforth.

Though Hanna grew up in Finch, a town near Cornwall, he considers the London area his home.

“Once I moved to London, I loved it so much I stayed,” said Hanna, who eventually began commuting back and forth to Nashville, Tennessee, where he made his permanent home three years ago.

Known for his high-energy stage show, Hanna has performed in opening slots for the likes of the Lonestar, Brooks and Dunn, Lee Ann Womack and David Lee Murphy, among others. In the spring of 2007, he supported Emerson Drive on a Canadian National tour, though he missed the London stop due to a previous commitment.

“The last time I played in the London area, I opened for the Dixie Chicks at the Western Fairgrounds,” said Hanna. “I’m really looking forward to returning home and doing a show to thank all the fans who have supported me. I’ve just been holding off for the right opportunity and I thought this would be perfect.”

No stranger to making hit records, Hanna first hit the Canadian Country Music scene in 1989 with the single, “Ain’t No Justice in Love.” Years later, after moving to Nashville to immerse himself in the heart of Music City, he achieved a handful of hit songs, including the top-ten ''Song In My Head. ''

Greg later followed up “Song in My Head” with “Love You For Life” and “Blame it On Me.” This summer, Hanna has been heard over the air all across Canada with the hit single “Singin’ To The Radio.”

In 2003, legendary artist Sammy Kershaw recorded “Miss What’s Her Name”, a song written by Hanna. The song was released on Kershaw’s album titled “I Want My Money Back.”

“Greg is a strong songwriter and a proven performer, and we admire his talent and tenacity,” said CPT Entertainment partner, Kevin Bulmer. “He’s also a terrific guy. We’ve been approached by scores of his fans who have been asking for someone to bring him back to the area. We’re proud to do it.”

The setting for the show will be unique. Formerly a working cattle auction barn, the hall at Purple Hill Country (20903 Purple Hill Road, near Thorndale) has been built piece-by-piece by George Taylor and his family. The venue is rich with artifacts and historic treasures and features an all-new lobby area and washrooms. The hall is the centerpiece of Purple Hill’s working cattle farm.

“George Taylor’s venue has to be experienced to truly be appreciated,” said Bulmer. “It is an incredible atmosphere; a true reflection of the dedication, history and sense of community in evidence by the entire Taylor family. Couple that with Greg Hanna’s music, and it should be a terrific night.”

Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 at the door, and are available online at www.cptentertainment.com, at Vincent Farm Equipment’s Exeter location or at Case ‘N Drum OIL in London.
